Sorry sports fans but Brendan has confirmed that due to the rain, the Mills Colllege field is closed this weekend.
As of 9:00am this morning, the fields are closed due to the rain.
Two things to note. There are now contact email addresses for all board members located on the EBOTS Board page. The * in each email address will need to be changed to an @ sign in order to work.
Also, some members have mentioned that they have had issues with the Google Calendar which has the dates and times for the upcoming games. Someone mentioned that you may want to erase your browser’s cache and if you are still getting the wrong times, please get a hold of Chris Jara and let him know what issues you are having.
From former EBOTS member Stephen Duffy,
“hey Guys, I don’t have anything to do with the wednesday game any more so I hope this is reaching the majority of folks.
Nino Borsoni ( Nino is in charge of all Alameda soccer field allocation) just called me and I want to pass on his message. Effective immediately the Wednesday game at Bay Port is over. You will have to find a new field. This is Alameda parks and rec and a permit is needed. Another team has a permit to play there and will be doing so from here on out.
I hope this reaches everyone. We are fortunate to have permission to play on Sunday and we do not want to lose or abuse this privilege.”
From Toby of Sunset Soccer
“Since the implementation of Title IX legislation in 1972 allowing equal opportunity for girls and women to participate in sports, there has been a significant increase in the number of females participating in competitive sports. However, the total number of injuries has also increased. Studies have shown that a female soccer player’s risk of sustaining an ACL injury is two to eight times greater than her male counterpart. Subsequent studies have shown that adding neuromuscular and proprioceptive exercises to the training regimen can reduce the number of ACL injuries by two to four fold.”
Please visit the Santa Monica Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Group website for more information on their injury prevention and performance enhancement program (PEP): http://aclprevent.com/aclprevention.htm
